Pool Painting

I think it rained all through the night and for most of today and it was certainly a lot cooler (I could say too cool but that would be wrong seeing as I complained about it being too hot the other day).

We got up late and spent the morning in, playing Monopoly, tidying, sweeping. We had a quick lunch and then Small and Huffle went out to 'shoot some pool' at the local Bowling Alley/Pool Hall/Arcade. No-one else was there so they got a table for $10 and stayed for 90 minutes (good deal). Small perfected his stance and his technique and won a game (due to black ball going down). They popped out to the bakery on the way home and bought cakes for all. Wahoo.

Smallest and I went and glazed our frogs from last week. It wasn't easy but it was good and Smallest definitely wants to do it again. We also had a good look around the gallery. We finished after a couple of hours and came home to eat cake with the others where Small made us a cup of tea (though it cost us!).

.

Small had his shower, Smallest did his homework and Huffle FaceTimed Grandma and Grandad. Huffle decided we were going out for dinner and suggested Frankie Tomatoes which is an Italian buffet style place. We have been here several times for birthdays and the kids have been asking to go for ages but Huffle always denies their request, so it was surprising that he chose to go here. "It won't be busy on a Sunday evening" he exclaimed "and I know it's a fair way but at least we can eat straight away". AS LONG AS WE CAN EAT BETWEEN 6 and 6:30PM says I.

When we get there (around 6:15PM), the car park was absolutely crammed full. Still, we went in and were told the wait is 30 - 45 mins. NO!!! So we got in the car and scouted around for something else, but it had to be quick as both boys needed to be in bed early. Smallest had already had two late nights (and it was showing too in his awful moods) and Small had his Canada Wonderland trip tomorrow and needed to be at school for 7am!). To cut a long story short, we ended up in a Burger place that's only vegetarian option is a bit of stringy green pepper, a few small bits of fried onion, a limp lettuce leaf, a few tiny mushrooms, a huge slice of tomato (hate tomatoes) and a warm soggy bun. The boys and Huffle were fine and Smallest was most excited to serve himself a drink from the Soda Fountain (can't you tell we rarely eat fast food?) where he pushed against the lever for coke by accident whilst trying to get some ice and poured coke all over his fleece! Then when he went back for a refill, he plunked his ice into his drink splashing it everywhere. There was a notice board with some paper and crayons for people to use and people had left lovely notes for the burger place. I drew one that said "please learn to make Vegetarian Patties" and I drew a burger and wrote rice and beans next to it. Smallest drew a nice burger for them.

As soon as we got home, both kids went to bed. I put the quilts back on their beds as they have recently only been sleeping under sheets. I tried to find my bed socks for warmth but I packed them away in my Winter Box which is in the basement. BOOOOO. It's still raining, I think May was saving its rain for the final day.
