Quick bury your toast for winter!

Small made our breakfast for us this morning. Scrambled Egg on toast. It was lovely. We had a bit of extra toast that no one ate so we cut it into small cubes and threw it out for the birds. We had one huge black crow take one piece, land on the roof of the barn and examine it before flying away. Then there was a battle between Chippy chipmunk and Stoopid Squirrel. Chippy would come along and stuff his little face full until his cheeks ballooned and then run away, possibly into a pipe that leads to the warm basement and then come back for another face full. Stoopid came and nibbled a piece like it was a nut and then buried it in our grass. Every now and the the chipmunk would scare the squirrel away despite the fact that the chipmunk is three times smaller than the squirrel. We will have bread trees growing in our lawn and Stoopid will be hungry come winter time. It was very entertaining watching the comings and goings. We have decided that Squirrels must have incredibly tiny brains!

Talking of winter time, it snowed again today. I couldn't get a good photo though because it was so light and melted before it hit the ground as the sun was out. It was cold though, Huffle said when he collected carrots and herbs from the garden for dinner. It snowed for most of the day on and off but none settled.

We all played a game of Catan and I won. While Huffle and I made a Roast CHicken dinner with cheese and onion pie for Small and I and an accompanying Apple Pie for a much later dessert, the boys showered, did a chore each and played on the Wii together. Everytime we cook anything now in the oven, the smoke alarm goes off and a thick fog of smoke fills the kitchen. We need to try and do a proper clean of the oven and hopefully that will help.

Huffle put up my new mirror this morning and apart from the stream of swear words as the raw plugs didn't go in, he did a lovely job.

It's very blingy

After dinner we sat and finished The Hobbit and managed to have a slice of our pie too - it was very nice. Late afternoon/early evening we played Guess Who, Chess and Downfall.
