Thanks be giving to Grandads wet towels

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CANADA STYLEEEEEEEE.

After breakfast Grandma set the kitchen on fire......... Well actually that was much later, we'll get to that.

Before breakfast we had several games of Go Fish. Grandad and I went off to Suffolks house and picked up loads of slabs to bring back home. We left the boys playing on the Wii and Huffle dismantling the shoe rack from the pantry and then remantling it in the Sun Room (it was a bit wonky but it holds the shoes beautifully). Grandma was left doing Thanksgiving dinner which included a huge piece of Beef.

We had planned to eat dinner around 2pm ish and the kitchen was in full flow, vegetables, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, squash and beetroot. All was going well until Grandma managed to set the oven on fire. There was an actual fire in the bottom of the oven from the oil off the yorkshires. All the smoke alarms were taken down, windows and doors opened. There was a thick fog of smoke in all room. Everything was taken out of the oven and Grandad and I wet tea-towels and threw them on the fire. Grandad mopped up all the spilt oil and stopped the fire (his fire safety training helped greatly).

The dinner went back into the oven and we did eat around 2:30pm which with all things considering was not bad. We had a lovely dinner with a table decorated by the boys with mini scarecrows, colourful leaves and a few bugs which climbed out of the hydrangea heads. It was very nice and thanksgivingy.

We cleared everything up and played Torontoopoly which is a Monopoly with Toronto properties. It wasn't very good and was very cheaply made but Team Stinky (Smallest and Grandad) won.

Huffle edit - Pudding was a variety of small cheesecakes and a unseasonal baileys (for the adults) but it is only ten weeks to Christmas.
