The rabbit didn't even pod the beans

This morning, Huffle and I didn't get up until 9:30am, much to the amusement of the rest of the house. Huffle should have been on the way to get Grandad from Quiche's and had to hurry. There was a bit of texting to and fro doubting who was driving who but eventually Huffle picked him up anyway (Quiche was still asleep).

We had a pancake breakfast all ready for when they got back. Late morning we all drove (in two cars) to Toronto for a wander along the Beaches Boardwalk. It was perfect weather for meandering, enjoying the sunshine, people watching and house envying.

A few times when we stopped to enjoy the view or have a sit down, I found that my sandals had been stolen (Grandad, Huffle and those naughty boys were to blame). We saw kites and bubbles flying, a tightrope walker, funny dogs, a Tom Petty Busker and the usual strange people including the one man disco bike. Grandad commented on how many different accents we heard.

We walked for quite a long way on the boardwalk but towards the ice cream place that is apparently No1 for all eating places in Toronto. It is good and they do make their own Gelato and Ice Creams as well as pies. We all had ice creams of varying sizes (despite Grandad having a double one, he says he could have had a triple).

Walking back we chose the shop route and up to Kew Gardens for Smallest to go on the park. Small sat with Grandad and talked as he didn't want to climb with his broken finger. We moved through the gardens and back onto the beach again where we sat and watched people and the lake and listened to the music - my sandals disappeared again!

Back to the cars and a short drive through the city (eeeeek talk about busy. The lights turn for you to go but still the pedestrians walk. Some roads are one way, some you can't turn left or right - that's very confusing). My phone cut out part way so we we lost contact with Huffle and had no sat nav or map to follow. Luckily Grandad remembered it from when he was here last time and managed to navigate me to an underground car park. We met back up with Huffle, Grandma and Smallest and went to the restaurant a little bit early where we had booked a table.

We were in the middle of theatre district so the people watching was great. Lots of Theatre Lovies. Our food was spectacular. Freshly made pasta and steaks and beautiful desserts of Creme Brûlée, White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake and Caramel Tartuffo. The waitress brought mine and Small's desserts (mine with a candle) and sang Happy Birthday to me mainly, and Small. Very embarrassing as the rest of the restaurant sang too. The lady behind me sang "and how old are youuuuuuu?", so I sang back "I'm not telling youuuuuuu!". It was very nice and we all enjoyed it.

The drive back was very pleasant and quick and the sunset behind us was a beautiful pink sky. Obviously I couldn't take a photo as I was driving and my phone was dead!

A lovely day again.
