Ice Kicking

Everyone was up early this morning in order for us to get Smallest to his football game for 9:30am. We had a very quick small breakfast and were gone. Smallest had twenty minutes in the changing rooms for team talk and the parents and siblings got to stand in the corridor chatting. I took BobbyDeNiro his cake that he has been asking about ever since he heard I make my own Christmas Cake. He looked very embarrassed and so he should considering all the hassle he has been giving me, the kids at school via his wife - the school librarian. Once the tactics were discussed the team went onto the field where they had to watch a game for the last ten minutes. Today's game was one that our coach wanted to win desperately as some of the kids left his team to join the opposition. Good job then that they won 9-2. In fact afterwards he said he was embarrassed that we scored so many. Smallest played very well and despite the fact we were missing two players, one a key player, the team were spectacular.

Moo being very Canadian with her coffee in a travel mug

Moo was really into the game. I never really thought of her as a football spectator before, and maybe it's just because her grandson is playing, but she really enjoys it. I expect to hear that she is going down to watch Hinckley United when she goes home. Small video'd the game again which should be interesting watching when we all get a copy, Huffle was usual is commentating in his biased way (so Grandad says).

We all decided we weren't hungry enough for brunch so came home, let Smallest shower and change, played a couple of games of Q-Bitz and went out for dinner. Smallest chose the burger place we go to in the Summer. It was a bit cold in there but we had a quick game of Simon Swipe, ate and then came home.

The boys put away half of their Christmas presents, we washed Smallest's bedding and while the boys played on the Wii, Moo, Huffle and I played Skip-Bo (Moo won).

We were all a bit tired and lethargic so we decided to go for a walk. We didn't go too far but away from the village where we kicked pieces of ice and snow along the road and did target practice with snowballs. Moo, Small and I got a huge piece of ice and kicked it all the way home.

Late afternoon we all watched Shaun the Sheep The Movie which we got as a freeview Christmas Present from Bell, our TV provider. The boys and I watched this in the Summer but Moo and Huffle hadn't seen it. It was very good.

We had a small bite to eat, table tennis, jigsaw and then we sat and watched Ninja Warrier UK (Aunty A alerted us to the fact it was on again). Smallest went to bed and Small played Ace to Ace (card game) with us until his bedtime.

Huffle, Moo and I have discovered the TV series Dickension which we are very much enjoying.
