Clear it away

Today was a rainy, cloudy but sticky day later. We had already decided that today was the day we tried on Winter Outerwear and bought whatever was needed for the coming cold spell. As per the kids request, we had pancakes for our Wedding Anniversary.

Smallest's creation (it's a vampire cat).

Then all the coats, ski pants, gloves, scarves, hats, snow boots, snowboarding boots, Wellies etc came out from storage. Both boys needed new coats and ski pants and gloves. We all have plenty of hats and scarves and Smallest was especially pleased that Small passed some stuff to him.

Off we went armed with our list. We needed to get Small a small mirror for Art on Monday so we headed for Dollarama first. Of course we got stuck in the Halloween aisle and stayed there for some time trying everything on. We didn't buy anything for Halloween AS ITS TOO DAMN EARLY! However, we did have fun playing.

Next we went glove shopping but unfortunately only very small people's gloves were for sale. We got some for Smallest but no-one else. However, we did buy a cool box on wheels and a sand chair (it's a very low beach chair - it was just $2:50). Next we went coat and skipant shopping. Silly us, we are a season too early. We assumed as they had got rid of all Summer stuff now that they would have Winter stuff out. NO! Just Halloween! As it was lunchtime and the boys were getting hurt because they were playing hide and seek and falling over racks and into clothes, we took them home for lunch. It was feeling very cool and we all sat and tried to watch Labyrinth (Huffle's favourite) but it wouldn't stream well so we switched to Willow (another Huffle favourite) instead. Smallest got bored first and we stopped it and they went out and played. It seemed to have warmed up a bit. Huffle and I cleared out the pantry and reorganised it so we could fit in the winter stuff (if we ever buy any). The pantry serves as a cloak room too for the kids stuff as it is easier for them to get their things and is closer to the back door.

As we found lots of things that needed to go into the barn, we decided to start clearing that too. The boys came in and played on their DS' and chucked stuff away and cleared things. We havent finished yet as it was dinner time. It started to get quite warm and humid. Its a strange time of year. The forecast for this week is temperatures from 18 to 30 and back to 23 in one week.

It is definitely more Autumnal, the leaves are changing colour and falling (great for photographing, but not so great for clearing).
