When I got up this morning (which was a struggle as my pit was so cosy warm) the thermometer said -20* and that was without the windchill which made it -31*. There was also ice on the inside of all of our windows.
Moo and I had originally decided to walk along the nature trail to the beach and stop for a picnic (hot flask, toasted bagel type picnic, not ice cream obviously). However, due to the coldness of the day we gave up on that idea (plus there were weather warnings in place stating that people should not venture out unless absolutely necessary and certainly not with bare skin).
Even MrBasement cancelled this morning as he felt knocking a hole through the wall to the outside was not a good idea. He is now coming on Friday instead to fit our Cooker Hood. Guess who called us yesterday? The Gas Man, who was very sorry that he ignored four of our phone calls and didn't turn up three times! He was pleased we had found someone else!!! typical.
Huffle worked from home and the boys nearly missed their bus as it came five minutes early. Both boys forgot their hats, luckily they have their hoody hood and their coat hoods!
Moo and I went to Ikea for a warm wander, we didn't buy much but it was nice just to meander around and drink free coffee. We bought Small a Double Duvet as he moves about so much in his sleep that he always loses his quilt and it ends up on floor, hopefully this will do the job.
Moo and I made dinner, the boys did their homework and played on the Wii. Huffle has sorted out somewhere for them to play football (or soccer as they dare to call it here). It will be on a Tuesday evening. 6-7pm for Smallest and 7-8 for Small. Both are for skills development learning passing, shooting and dribbling and a short game at the end. They are very excited. We definitely can't fit anything else in now. Monday Piano and Beavers/Scouts. Tuesday Football. Wednesday Snowboarding and Friday Swimming. I'm tired just writing it.
The boys played some more wii and the older ones played UPSET (Huffle won hmph!)
