Frozen Tortoise

The temperature started at -18* with windchill of -29* (now that's cold). Huffle went off to work and had lots of meetings. The boys went to school, Small armed with two rucksacks and a huge board bag filled with essentials for snow boarding. I half wondered if the club would be cancelled tonight and then I got a phone call from school saying it definitely was. I'm partly pleased as I would have been worried about him.

I knew it was bad when I found ice on the inside of some of our windows. Moo and I went to aerobics dressed in mid length exercise trousers (nearly said yoga Pants!) with our calves open to the elements (brrrrrrrr). Aerobics was really good but I think we will hurt tomorrow. We had a new routine which was very confusing but we laughed a lot too.

Today we decided it was time the tree should be taken away even though it still looked very lovely and full of life. Seemed a shame to put it outside in the freezing cold. It will go on our fire pit and keep us warm (probably when Grandad is here next). We lovingly wrapped all the lovely ornaments and baubles up and hauled the tree outside (brrrrrr) and put all of Small's tree bits and tree away too. Everything was stored in the basement for next Christmas.

Of course, moving the tree led to cleaning the floor and moving the living room around and then making the beds led to sweeping of the floors under the beds, putting away the kids Lego and more sweeping and tidying.

After some lunch, a bit of Victoria Wood and our showers we finished off the jigsaw wih a little help from Smallest who came home just in time to put the last few pieces in. Small was disappointed his lesson was cancelled but it seems the whole resort was closed (too cold) so there was nothing we could have done. Homework was done, showers were had and Moo, Smallest and I made dinner.

We watched a lovely film called Esio Trot which is a Roald Dahl story we read to the kids when they were smaller.

The film esio trot (tortoise backwards) was about a tortoise and the weather was frozen. It was certainly cold yesterday - warmed up a bit today xxxx
