Flapjack Boarding

I did not want to get up this morning. Again I was cosily wrapped up in my duvet. It wasn't as cold today. Started out as -11*. Huffle went in to work today and the boys went to school carrying far too much. Small has his snowboard lesson tonight so he had a huge board bag and his rucksack and Smallest carried Small's boot bag and his own rucksack. They stumbled onto the bus.

Moo and I went to aerobics. It was very funny as we got our moves mixed up a lot and the whole thing was quite tough. We had showers, finished our breakfast and listened the radio sitting in the sunny kitchen. The sun shone on the snow today and made it all sparkly.

We made Flapjack as the school has asked for family recipes which mean something to us. I tested the recipe, wrote it and sent a photo in. This will then be put into a special recipe book which we then will have to buy to raise money for the school. Huffle thinks this is hilarious that we have given away our recipe and then we have to pay for it. He is funny. It isn't a family recipe though, it was given to me by one of my Ante Natal mum's over eleven years ago when I had just had Small. The recipe has done the rounds since as I have given it away to many people, including over here. I also gave a brief history too. For example, did you know that Shakespeare mentioned Flapjack in one of his plays?

We watched "That day we sang" A Victoria Wood musical which was lovely, whilst we ate our lunch and had a small taster of the flapjack. It was quite a long one but it was nice to sit mid-afternoon drinking tea, legs up and watching TV after our hard work out this morning.

We jigsawed, tidied, swept and laundered and then made dinner. Tonight we had Beef Shepherds Pie (which I guess is called Shepherds because it is made with lamb so maybe we need to change its name to Cowman Pie - it doesn't quite have the same ring does it?), and Grass Pie which is just a vegetarian equivalent made up by me.

Smallest came home by himself and after he did his homework we played on the Wii playing Mario Bros. When Huffle came home, him and Smallest played football on the Wii.

After dinner, Huffle and I went to the Indoor Football to sign the boys up and picked up Small from school on the way back. His Snowboard lesson includes a bus from school to the resort where he has a lesson, dinner and then snowboarding with his friends. It's quite difficult as most of Small's friends grew up here and have been skiing or snowboarding since they could walk. He is having lessons with kids much younger than himself but I know his friends are going along so they can all ski and board afterwards.

Edit: he had a fabulous time and loved it.

Well done Small, he'll soon be whizzing down like his mates. Nice they went so they could play together after the lesson. Also, would I be right in thinking its a special birthday for Huffle this time ?
