Ice Walking

Small did not wake up early and had an achey bum due to falling over on the slopes yesterday. I had to wake him up. Moo and I ached all over - every muscle, including our ribs. We must have worked so hard yesterday. The boys went to school, Huffle worked from home and Moo and I had an early breakfast and drove off to Port Perry for some wandering around the shops. It was very cold -12* but felt like -17*. The lake was frozen and Moo went for a quick walk on it - she was desperate to do it - couldn't help herself.

We saw a man walking his dog. The dog wouldn't stop staring and I thought it wanted to eat Moo especially when it licked its lips. We asked the man what the boxes on the ice were. "Are you English?" He said. YES WE ARE BUT I LIVE HERE. He told us they were for ice fishing. The fishermen sit in the boxes, make a hole and fish whilst drinking beer all day. The beer I understand but sitting in a box on ice, fishing!!!!! He told us about when he biked across England.

We walked around the shops and bought ourselves a top each. After a few more shops, we stopped for a coffee and then drove off to NoCustard's house where we met her for a walk on her local Nature Walk alongside the lake. It was lovely, still cold but very pretty and the birds flew by singing their little songs.

We walked for about an hour and then went back to her house where she laid on a beautiful lunch for us. We had Vegetable and Lentil Soup with a cheese scone, a salad and a Pear and Brie Pizza (but on thin pastry not dough). We had a Biscotti with our cup of tea and a nice long sit down. It was absolutely lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed it. NoCustard was getting rid of an office chair and we brought it home for Small as a surprise to go with his new desk.

We came home, the boys came home and Small needed to go to a friends house to work on his French Play with others from his class. Moo and I walked him there and then walked back. Smallest and I played Mario on the Wii while Moo started on the dinner.

Smallest and Moo played table tennis - he is getting very good. After dinner Huffle and Smallest played football on the Wii and Small did his homework at his desk with his new chair.
