The two grumpy goblins

Twice we were disturbed in the night. Once for Huffle getting up to turn off the heating as we forgot to turn it down as we went to bed and we both woke up feeling extremely warm (despite the fact it was -21 outside), the other was for me waking up wanting the loo (my fault for having a hot lemon, ginger and honey just before bed). I slept in till 9am though - ooooh lovely.

After breakfast the boys all watched football (Stoke won and Leicester lost) and I watched Mr Selfridge. After lunch we went sledging (this took us ages to get ready as usual). Once there, Smallest hit me in the eye with a snowball (accidentally) but it really hurt. Eventually we got on the hill and all the boys sledged down. It wasn't too fast and even I went down straight away.

Look how happy he started off (this soon changes).

Still, we moved over to the smaller hill where no-one else was (of course) and carved out our own runs.

The sun was out when we arrived but it soon disappeared and then it got a bit cooler.

We made a jump too and found another hill to sledge down.

Small and I had just gone down together on the same sledge. I made him sit at the front so he got the snow in his face and I could hide mine in his hood.

There was much grumpiness from the youngest member of our family (partly due to him not being 100% well but partly due to the fact that Small stopped Smallest going over the jump and ruining it because it had just been made. This caused much disdain and a fight broke out. Smallest punched out at Small which somehow made Smallest get upset and lay in the snow until he was really cold (nothing to do with the fact he only wore a thin pair of socks!). We split them up and Smallest at at the top of the hill with a miserable face and refused to move.

Huffle hurt his ribs going over my jump on his tummy - silly billy

After a while he came around and was sledging with the rest of us. We went up to the farm shop for a hot drink and a little something and talked to the dog Harley. Still a bit grumpy, we went back to the hill and tried a daredevil run where Huffle mainly ended up in the trees and Small ended up in the shrubs!

We went back to our hill and Small threw snow over Smallest and I as we sledged down together. This went straight into Smallests face and upset him again so we all threw snow at Small. Still this didn't help things and while I was trying to get a photo of everyone throwing snow into the air, The boys ended fighting and arguing again. Huffle took the decision to leave as he had had enough of their despicable behaviour and we came home in silence.

After a brief spell in their rooms they ended up playing table tennis together while Huffle and I relaxed and made dinner. Something upset them whilst they were playing and they ended up in their rooms again. Bloomin' miseries. Wish they could learn to get on.
