The Earth Moved

Small was asleep by the time we went to bed, thank goodness. Though he did wake me cough, cough, coughing. I had to go in eventually and force some water down him. Then the coyotes started, what an awful noise, I can't even describe it.

Huffle went off to work, last night he realised he has only been taking half doses of his tablets. The lable said "take two tablets twice daily" and he thought that meant two a day, but now we think it means four a day. He was supposed to ring the docs today to check whether he just carries on as he is or doubles the dose! He says he feels better though. Small and Smallest went off to school. Small was tired and coughing but he says his throat doesn't hurt now. That's good. I sent him with some medicine for lunchtime. They both had Taekwondo today and I didn't go today so I asked Small to watch carefully so he could show me, so I could help Smallest later.

I waved the boys off after liberally spraying them with sun cream (another scorcher), had breakfast, watched ten minutes of 'The Notebook' (lovely film) and went and got ready to go to knitting.

10:00am. Apparently we had an Earthquake, I don't know where I was or what I was doing but I never felt a thing! Everyone's talking about it and I feel a bit left out really. It seems it happened in Ottawa and was a '5'. Is that bad? I remember a few in England. One shook the bed (ooo err) and the other happened at work, my pens jiggled around but nothing much happened.

At knitting there were only four of us (five including El, the owner).

El was making this for the front door, I saw it and thought it said SH1T and the others thought it said SLUT! I said she should put a note underneath saying, read it again!

We had a good chat and a laugh. I got loads of my cardi done and am now doing the sleeves. Then it's just the sewing and the border to do. Wahoooo. Too warm for cardi's now ha! I stayed there till way last 12 and popped to the supermarket to fetch a few things for dinner tonight and some BBQ stuff for the weekend.

I came home, had lunch, tidied and sorted out dinner and then sat on the porch blogging, knitting, texting the lovely Yahoo and listening to lovely music. Yahoo wanted to know if we would be visiting England for our Summer Holidays. Summer? In England? I wish they had a Summer. I used to love our lovely English Cornwall holidays until we realised we spent two weeks in rain macs hiding under umbrellas pretending we were happy just to be there! This is what Small was asking too. We explained to him that it was really difficult for us to have a holiday in England. For a start, there is nowhere we could stay all together as no-one we know has the room for us, which means we would have to stay in a hotel (not the best for us and two kids). Plus, Leicestershire, where the majority of people are that we would want to see, is not a very 'holiday' place, especially as the kids really like their beachy type of holiday. It's very difficult and something we are trying to work out how to do. We will not be returning this Summer.

The boys came home, had a quick snack and we got ready for swimming.

The boys showing me new moves they learnt at Taekwondo

I took my knitting me with and got on with my sleeve. They swam well but they said the water was cold. I had left instructions for Huffle for dinner and it was almost ready by the time we got home. We all ate and then we played football before Small and I gave in due to being bothered by mosquitoes. Tomorrow I will make my mossie trap that Mrs Rumbleskins told me about. See how we go with that!

Huffle and Smallest carried on playing, I blogged and tidied the kitchen and Small watched TV.

Alliums are nearly out and the Lady's Mantle is looking fabulous

Tut tut Famfa. Leicester has Richard 111, Bradgate Park, Space Centre, shops galore, proper seaside places within 2 hours (not your lakey things), steam trains, friends, family. Where to stay... M&M's 4/5 bed house while they in Brussels. JD. xx

Yes don't forget the space centre! As long as it hasn't caught on fire, closed down, disappeared into a sink hole etc etc. I want to know what you classified as a 'scorcher.' It was a 'chilly' 19.degrees here today. Only a couple of weeks til winter starts!

Still reading

Eeek we are going to Cornwall and Devon for our summer holidays so thanks for the tip i think I'd better make sure I take my waterproofs!! Judging by the weather at the moment I think I will need them :-(

Leicestershire holidays would be a bit of a letdown in terms of sea and sand but plenty of visiting and nostalgic day trips to be had, maybe you could have a big 'meet up' with everyone on a holiday at the seaside

Glad to hear Huffle and Small are feeling a bit better

Have you succumbed to candy crush yet?

X
